Gig Notes:

Good to see the band on their own, after catching their short Progressive Nation set last year. Good choice of material (Change!), despite the short set. Curfews suck. Only two bands and it’s only an hour long set! Montreal’s Priestess were in support.

Damon has a bit of a sense of humour and had some fun with the crowd, especially the drunks at the front. I cut the show so Damon’s extended “patter” had their own tracks, as he went on a bit. His faux pas with the t-shirts saw him giving away a pile of them just before Superstar, something he didn’t need to do, so was a nice gesture. They certainly went down well with the crowd and I’ll catch them again next time – an entertaining band in the true “classic rock” mould.

Recording notes and sound quality:

I have taped here twice and have been unhappy with the sound on both occasions, so either the fault of the house PA, or the engineers on both nights. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good enough recording, but the mix is far from perfect. As usual, all I did was a bit of mid bass reduction and had to boost the levels a bit, as I left plenty of headroom due to the PA.
